HARRIS COUNTY MAKES HISTORY WITH FIRST FEMALE JUSTICE OF THE PEACE IN PRECINCT 2, PLACE 2

Harris County (January 20, 2023) – A formal investiture ceremony for Judge Dolores Lozano will take place at the John Phelps Courthouse Annex, 101 S. Richey St, Pasadena, TX 77506, at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, January 21, 2023.

Judge Lozano will be sworn in as the first woman to serve as Justice of the Peace in Precinct 2, Place 2. The ceremony will be administered by Congressman Al Green and will feature remarks from Commissioner Adrian Garcia and State Representative Jolanda Jones. Elected officials scheduled to be in attendance include Harris County Attorney Christian Menefee, State Representative Ana Hernandez, State Representative Christina Morales, Mayor Jeff Wagner of Pasadena, Mayor Joe Soto of South Houston, Mayor Esmeralda Moya of Galena Park, Mayor Ana Diaz of Jacinto City. 

The investiture is ceremonial and attendance is by invitation only. Press seating of the Courtroom ceremony will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Investiture Ceremony will be a celebration of unity and a step forward for the community. Judge Lozano is committed to ensuring that justice is served to all members of the community and to working with all stakeholders to strengthen the justice system in Harris County.
